Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use chicken breast instead of thighs?

Yes, you can substitute chicken breast for thighs if you prefer. However, keep in mind that chicken thighs tend to be juicier and more flavorful, while chicken breast may be slightly drier. Adjust cooking times accordingly to ensure the chicken breast is cooked through without becoming overcooked.

How spicy is this dish?

The level of spiciness can be adjusted based on your preference. The chili sauce adds heat to the dish, but you can control the spice level by adjusting the amount of chili sauce used. If you prefer a milder version, you can reduce the amount of chili sauce or choose a milder variety.

Can I make this dish ahead of time?

While the Crispy Chilli Chicken is best enjoyed fresh, you can prepare components of the dish ahead of time. You can fry the chicken in advance and store it in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, simply reheat the chicken in the oven to crisp it up again, and prepare the sauce fresh for optimal flavor.

How do I store leftovers?

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. To reheat, gently warm the chicken in the oven or microwave until heated through. Keep in mind that the crispiness of the chicken may diminish slightly upon reheating.

Can I adjust the sweetness of the sauce?

Yes, you can adjust the sweetness of the sauce to suit your taste preferences. If you prefer a sweeter sauce, you can increase the amount of brown sugar used. Conversely, if you prefer a less sweet sauce, you can reduce the amount of brown sugar or omit it altogether. Adjusting the sweetness allows you to tailor the dish to your liking.
